A good mosquito treatment isn't just a spray around the yard. It's about putting the product where mosquitoes actually spend their time, then helping you cut off the water they breed in. Here's what a Pro-Spray mosquito visit looks like, from the first inspection to ongoing monthly service.

Step 1: Free Inspection

We start by walking your property with you. We're looking for two things:

  • Resting sites: the cool, shady, humid places adult mosquitoes hide during the day. In South Florida that's usually thick hedges, palm clusters, ferns and ground covers, the shady side of the house, under decks and stairs, behind A/C units and along fence lines.
  • Breeding sites: anything holding standing water, including plant saucers, bromeliads, clogged gutters, tarps, toys, buckets, boat covers, tire swings and low spots that puddle after rain.

We'll also ask how you use the yard. Where do the kids play? Where do you grill? Do you have dogs, horses or other animals? That shapes where we focus.

Step 2: Backpack Fogger Treatment

Your technician treats the resting areas we identified using a backpack fogger, which lets us reach into dense foliage, under structures and along the edges where mosquitoes shelter. We pay attention to the spots where you spend time, like the pool deck, lanai edges, play areas and paths to the door. Every treatment is applied by a technician who can see exactly what they're treating.

Larval traps. We also place mosquito larval traps in shade near vegetation and resting spots, out of reach of kids and pets, never in ponds or pools and away from animal feed and drinking water. Egg-laying females that visit a trap pick up a growth regulator and can carry it to other nearby water, helping stop larvae from becoming adults. We refill and service the traps about every 4 weeks during your monthly visits, following the product label.

Step 3: Breeding-Site Review

After treatment, we'll go over any standing water we saw and what you can do about it: dump it, drain it, cover it or flush it. Mosquito eggs and larvae in standing water are the next wave of biters, so cutting down on breeding sites makes every treatment work better. Our standing-water checklist is a good guide between visits.

Step 4: Before You Go Back Outside

We'll tell you how long to keep people and pets off treated areas and answer any questions before we leave. Product labels set these instructions, and we follow them. More on that in our pets and families guide.

Step 5: Monthly Service

Mosquitoes keep hatching, so we recommend monthly treatments, especially during the rainy season. Your schedule can be customized. Some properties need a different rhythm depending on shade, water and how the yard is used. There's no contract and no cancellation fee.

One-Time Event Treatments

Not every customer needs ongoing service. For a party, wedding or outdoor gathering, we offer one-time special-event treatments. The process is the same: we look at where guests will be, treat the shady resting areas around those spaces with a backpack fogger, and point out standing water to dump before the big day. Share your event date when you book, and we'll coordinate scheduling with you.

Our Bug Free Guarantee

If pests come back between visits, so do we, at no extra cost.

What Affects Results

Every yard is different. Things that can make mosquitoes harder to control include:

  • Heavy shade and dense, overgrown plantings
  • Lots of containers or bromeliads that hold water
  • Nearby sources off your property, such as a neighbor's neglected pool, a canal edge, a retention pond or a wooded lot
  • Heavy rain right after treatment
  • Very windy conditions on treatment day

We'll talk through what we see on your property so your expectations are realistic.

What About No-see-ums?

Tiny biting midges, often called sand flies, breed in marshes, mangroves and tidal mud, usually off your property. A resting-site treatment may help around your home, but results are limited. Read more on our no-see-ums page.
