A beachfront condo near the pier, a canal home off the Intracoastal, a golf villa in Palm Aire, a block house in an older neighborhood west of Dixie Highway and a mobile home off a busy road all get different pests, through different gaps, for different reasons, so pest control in Pompano Beach depends a lot on which part of the city you live in. Below is how each part of the city tends to go, so you can read the section that sounds like your place. Pro-Spray is a family-run, Licensed & Insured company with 30+ years in business, and every visit starts with a FREE inspection.

Pest control in Pompano Beach, area by area

Beach condos along A1A and near the pier

High-rise and mid-rise buildings share plumbing, trash chutes and electrical runs, so German roaches and ghost ants move from one unit to the next. We treat the plumbing gaps under sinks and behind toilets where these roaches hide, and we come back about two weeks later to check. Usually one follow-up does it; a bad infestation sometimes needs more treatments. If the problem keeps coming back from next door, the association may want to treat the trash rooms and other units. HOAs get a written service report after each visit and an insurance certificate on request. See why roaches keep coming back in condos.

Canal homes east of Federal Highway

Neighborhoods like Harbor Village sit on finger canals off the Intracoastal. Seawalls, docks, palms and thick landscaping give palmetto bugs, white-footed ants and roof rats cover right next to the house. We work the outside walls, the roofline and the land side of the seawall, and docked boats can be treated on board too; a personal dock or boat slip is a separate add-on. The canal home pest list covers what to check when you've just bought on the water.

Palm Aire and the golf communities

Villas and condos around the golf courses back up to fairways, ponds and long hedges. Ants trail in from mulch beds, spiders build in screen enclosures, and mosquitoes rest in the shade along the course. Shared walls between villas mean a neighbor's roach or ant problem can turn into yours. Our monthly mosquito service treats that shade with a backpack fogger, outdoors only. We never use it indoors, and we never spray into or toward the ponds or canals.

Older neighborhoods west of Dixie and I-95

Many inland homes, including neighborhoods like Cresthaven, are older block or frame houses with aging screens, worn door sweeps, open attic vents and fruit trees in the yard. Those let in American cockroaches, roof rats and silverfish. During the inspection we point out the worn spots, and we tell you which repairs would help most.

Mobile home parks and villa communities

Skirting, crawl spaces and the gap where pipes enter the floor are the main roads in. Rats nest under the home, and palmetto bugs and ants come straight up through the floor. We check the skirting all the way around and treat the crawl space and the indoor spots where pests show up.

The pests we're called about most here

  • Palmetto bugs in kitchens and bathrooms after heavy rain, coming up from drains and in under doors
  • German roaches in condos, apartments and rentals; treated with gel bait, growth regulator and follow-up visits
  • Ants, especially white-footed ants trailing inside along wires and fire ants mounding in sunny spots; we use baits and treat yard mounds one by one
  • Roof rats in palms, fruit trees and attics. We track down their way in and seal it ourselves. Inside the home, we use traps and, only where the label allows, rodent bait placed out of reach of kids and pets. You'll know the set number of follow-up visits before we start. See rodent control in Pompano Beach
  • Mosquitoes and no-see-ums near the canals and the Hillsboro Inlet; see mosquito control in Pompano Beach
  • Bed bugs carried in from travel, rentals and secondhand furniture; see bed bug treatment

After a storm

Heavy rain and high water push palmetto bugs, ants and rats up into homes, and wind damage opens new gaps in soffits and screens. Wasps also build in closed shutters. If you've just had a storm, we can come out to check entry points and treat what's moving in. See rodents after a hurricane.

Pest control for rentals, seasonal homes and businesses

Landlords can book turnover treatments when a unit is empty. If you're away for the summer, we can get in through a lockbox or your property manager. Restaurants are usually serviced twice a month, with a written report after every visit; see commercial pest control.

Pest Control FAQs

My condo is clean. Why do I still have roaches?
In shared buildings they often come from the plumbing and other units. We treat your unit and follow up, and the association may want to treat trash rooms and nearby units.
Do you treat mobile homes?
Yes. We check the skirting and crawl space and treat inside where pests show up.
Can you treat my boat at the dock?
Yes. Docked boats can be treated on board, in the galley, cabins and bilge. In the bilge, we use roach gel bait or bait stations, and any rodent bait goes only where its label allows. We never use a liquid spray there. A personal dock or boat slip is a separate add-on.
I'm gone all summer. Can you still service my place?
Yes. We can get in through a lockbox or your property manager.
Do you speak Spanish?
Yes. Hablamos español.
