Mosquito control in Aventura looks different from a typical suburban yard job. Most residents live in towers, mid-rises, townhomes and villas, between the Intracoastal on the east and Biscayne Boulevard on the west, with the Oleta River just to the south. The mosquitoes on your terrace or pool deck usually aren't coming from the bay. They breed in plant saucers, bromeliads, balcony and deck drains and the small pockets of water left after an afternoon storm, then rest in the shade of courtyard plantings, palms and hedges. Our family-run team treats those spots, starting with a FREE inspection and $50 off your first service.

Three kinds of calls we get

Townhome, villa and single-family owners. You have a patio, a side yard or a small garden, often with dense tropical plantings along a garden wall. Adults rest inside the hedges, under palms, along fences and around pool cage edges. We treat those resting spots with a backpack fogger, apply larvicide to water that can't be dumped, and walk you through what to empty. Homes in the neighborhoods off Country Club Drive, near the shaded loop of the Don Soffer Exercise Trail and the golf course, tend to have the most canopy and the most resting shade.

Condo owners with a terrace or ground-floor patio. If your building allows it, we can treat the plantings and resting shade on the patio or terrace you're responsible for, and help you find the saucers, planters and clogged deck drains that keep mosquitoes coming back.

Boards and property managers. On shared grounds, the problem is usually the courtyard plantings, pool decks, landscaped walkways and the banks of retention ponds, which we treat from land and never over or toward the water. We can set up a plan for the outdoor common areas, scheduled around residents and amenity use, with a written service report after each visit and an insurance certificate on request. Our HOA and community mosquito control page explains how it works. One firm rule: the backpack fogger is for outdoor work only. We never use it indoors. That includes hallways, trash rooms and enclosed garages.

What mosquito control in Aventura covers

  • Resting shade: hedges, palms, the underside of leaves, garden walls, stairs and pool cage edges, starting where you spend the most time.
  • Larvicide where water stays: bromeliad cups, drains and decorative fountains without fish, only where the product label allows. We never treat ponds or fountains with fish, and we never spray over or toward the Intracoastal, a lake or the river.
  • Larval traps on monthly plans: set in the shade near resting spots. Each one holds a growth regulator, like birth control for insects, that stops larvae before they become biting adults. Monthly plans only.
  • A short wrap-up: what we treated and what to tip out or cover.

It's a professional mosquito barrier spray treatment, and every product is applied according to its label. We recommend monthly service, especially in the rainy season, and the schedule can be adjusted. We also do one-time treatments before a party or gathering.

If you're away part of the year

Many Aventura owners spend part of the year somewhere else, and a closed-up unit or townhome still collects rain in its saucers and drains. We can keep visits going while you're away, with access arranged through a lockbox or your property manager, so the patio isn't full of mosquitoes the day you get back.

Between visits

Dump saucers, buckets and toys after every rain. Flush bromeliads with a hose once a week. Keep balcony and deck drains clear and cover anything that holds water. A ceiling fan on the patio helps, because mosquitoes are weak fliers. After storms, see our rainy season guide.

Mosquito Control FAQs

I live in a condo. Can you treat just my terrace?
Yes, if your building allows it. We treat the plantings and shade on the terrace or patio you're responsible for and help you get rid of the small water sources.
Can you treat our association's common grounds?
Yes, the outdoor common areas. We work with your board or manager on a schedule and leave a written service report after each visit. An insurance certificate is available on request.
Will you fog the parking garage or the trash room?
No. The backpack fogger is for outdoor work only, never indoors.
Can you keep service going while I'm away for the season?
Yes. We can arrange access through a lockbox or your property manager.
How often do condo grounds need treatment?
We recommend monthly, especially from late spring through fall, when storms refill planters and drains almost daily. Boards can set the exact dates with us around pool and amenity use.
