Coral Springs yards are built for family life: big lawns, playsets, pool decks and patios, and that makes them prime fire ant territory. Mounds pop up in the lawn, along the swale and around play areas after heavy rain, often overnight. Big-headed ants nest under paver driveways and pool decks and push sand up between the joints, sometimes loosening pavers over time.
Inside, white-footed ants and ghost ants trail into kitchens and bathrooms along stucco walls, windows and plumbing lines, especially during the rainy season. Thick landscaping and mulch against the house give them a direct path in, and Florida carpenter ants nest in the mature oaks and palms that line many of the city's older neighborhoods, like Ramblewood and Maplewood.
What We Treat for Ant in Coral Springs
- Fire ant mounds in swales, play areas and beside the house
- Big-headed ants under pavers and pool decks
- White-footed ants and ghost ants indoors
- Florida carpenter ants in oaks and palms
- Trails along stucco and windows
How We Treat It
Fire ant mounds by pool decks and swales get direct treatment; oaks get carpenter ant checks. Inside, white-footed and ghost ants get baits along their trails. Outside, we treat paver joints, pool decks, the slab edge and mulch beds, and treat fire ant mounds near the home, in swales and around playsets directly. In older neighborhoods, carpenter ants are traced to the oaks and palms nearest the house, and we check gutters and damp fascia. In Heron Bay and other newer communities, we tell you what to ask your HOA landscaper to change. Swales in Ramblewood and Maplewood often get new mounds after rain, so we check them every visit.
Older Neighborhoods and Big Trees
In established neighborhoods with big oaks and palms, carpenter ants often nest in trees near the house and forage inside at night. We check the trees closest to the home, treat nests where we find them and point out limbs and wires that act as bridges. Gutter leaks and damp fascia are another nest site we look for. In newer communities like Heron Bay, irrigated HOA landscaping and pavers are the main ant hot spots, and we'll tell you what to ask your landscaper to change, like pulling mulch back from the foundation and adjusting sprinklers that spray the walls.
Rainy Season and New Mounds
Ant problems climb with the first storms of the rainy season, when flooded nests send colonies indoors and new fire ant mounds appear in the lawn. Don't disturb mounds; let us treat them. Keep mulch thin and off the slab, trim shrubs away from the walls and call before spraying a new trail, since spray can split the colony and make it harder to control.
What to Expect on Your First Visit
We identify the ant first. Pool decks, swales and playsets get checked, and we'll note when kids can play outside again.
